Meraki MV smart cameras

Smart cameras in the range

Licensing

Every MV camera needs a licence to operate (one per camera). Two ways to buy: (1) term licences - LIC-MV-1YR/3YR/5YR/7YR/10YR for single-imager cameras and LIC-MV-MULTCAM-1Y/3Y/5Y/7Y/10Y for MV44X and MV84X - which work in a co-termination organisation (all licences share one end date) or a per-device organisation (each licence counts down on its own camera); (2) Meraki Subscription / Cisco Networking Subscription (MERAKI-SUB, CISCO-NETWORK-SUB; partner-branded CISCO-NETWORK-PSUB with PLIC- prefixed SKUs) using the hardware-agnostic SKU LIC-MV-E plus add-ons. Tiers in plain words: the base MV licence (Enterprise on term licences, Essential on Subscription) unlocks the camera - dashboard and Vision portal management, live and recorded video, video wall, exports, motion search and recap, heatmaps, people and vehicle detection, zones, motion alerts, quality and retention settings, logging. MV Sense (LIC-MV-SEN-xYR, or LIC-MV-SEN on Subscription) is optional per camera and adds the REST and MQTT analytics APIs, custom computer vision, audio detection streaming and MV53X licence plate output; every MV organisation includes 10 MV Sense licences free. Not available on MV84X (no MQTT/API outputs) and not listed on the MV44X datasheet. Cloud Archive (LIC-MV-CA7/30/90/180/365, 1, 3 or 5 years; LIC-MV-CAxx on Subscription) is optional per camera and keeps a continuous 24/7 copy of video in the cloud for that many days alongside on-camera storage; one per camera, not stackable, does not co-terminate. Not supported on MV44X or MV84X. Add-on licences need a base licence first. SKU CHECK (1 Nov 2026): the multi-imager cameras (MV44X, MV84X) have no confirmed Subscription SKU; Meraki's Subscription page maps them to LIC-MV-MULTCAM-XY.
