Licensing

Every Catalyst -M switch needs a Meraki-capable licence to run in the dashboard (30-day grace period on claim). Three ways to buy, depending on how the customer's Meraki organisation is licensed: (1) Co-term or per-device licences: LIC-C9300-24E/48E (Enterprise) or LIC-C9300-24A/48A (Advanced) for all C9300, C9300L, C9300X and C9300LM -M models (12Y and 24-port models use the 24-port licence); LIC-C9200L-24E/48E/24A/48A for C9200L-M; LIC-C9200CX-E/-A for all C9200CX-M. Term suffixes -1Y, -3Y, -5Y, -7Y, -10Y (C9300 SKUs confirmed in the Cisco 9300 datasheet; C9200L-M: the Meraki 9200L-M datasheet says 1/3/5 years, the 9000-M deployment guide 1/3/5/7 and Cisco's family datasheet 1/3/5/7/10; C9200CX-M 1/3/5/7 per the deployment guide only. No Cisco or Meraki page prints a term-suffixed C9200L or C9200CX SKU, so those rows are marked unverified). Licence and support are bundled. In a co-term organisation all C9300/C9200L/MS390/MS150/MS130 must be on the same tier (all Enterprise or all Advanced); per-device organisations can mix, but Adaptive Policy needs Advanced on every switch in the network. New per-device conversions are no longer accepted by Meraki. (2) Meraki subscription (MERAKI-SUB / CISCO-NETWORK-SUB): hardware-agnostic class SKUs, LIC-MS-300-M-E/A (12/24-port C9300 family) and LIC-MS-300-L-E/A (48-port), LIC-MS-200-M/L-E/A (C9200L), term chosen at order with a 12-month minimum for Catalyst C9200-M/C9300-M. (3) Cisco Networking Subscription unified licences: LIC-CS-AC1-M-E/A and LIC-CS-AC1-L-E/A cover the C9300 -M family; Cisco's 2026 guidance is to buy unified licences for new and renewal purchases on eligible hardware rather than adding legacy licences. C9200L-M and C9200CX-M are not in the unified mapping.
