How Cisco Meraki is sold in the UK
Cisco's own How to Buy page sets out the routes: talk to a Cisco sales specialist, work with Cisco partners, or buy selected products through resellers, online marketplaces and distributors. Cisco describes its partners as bringing "deep technology expertise, portfolio breadth, and lifecycle support", and its page includes a Locate a partner tool.
For a business buying Meraki, that means the order normally starts with a quote from a Cisco Partner. Partners use Cisco Commerce, which Cisco's page describes as the place to "configure products, create quotes, place orders", and Meraki's own onboarding guide refers to finding your Meraki order number there.
Every Meraki order has two parts:
- Hardware: access points, switches, security and SD-WAN appliances, cameras, cellular gateways, sensors and accessories, each with an exact Cisco order code
- Licences: Cisco states that all current Meraki products require valid licensing to operate, so a quote without the right licences is not a complete quote

Choosing a Cisco Partner for Meraki
Any Cisco Partner that sells Meraki can place an order. The difference is in what happens around it. Look for a partner that can:
- quote by exact order code, so you can see precisely which models, licences and accessories you are buying
- explain licensing clearly: co-term or subscription, which tier, which term, and how it fits any Meraki you already own

From basket to delivery
- Browse the shop. Find products by category or search by model or order code from the bar under the header.
- Add to basket. Choose a licence and term for each product, or skip and decide later.
- Request a quote. Checkout sends your basket to us by email. There is no payment online.
- Check and confirm. We check compatibility, licensing and accessories against your sites and confirm the quote, including lead times.
- Order and ship. Once you accept, we place the order. Meraki's hardware shipment notification carries the Order Claim Key for the order.
- Claim into the dashboard. The Order Claim Key claims every item on the order at once. Subscription licences are claimed alongside the hardware; co-term licences are claimed separately with the same key.
- Assign and configure. Claiming adds devices to your organisation's inventory; they are then added to a network and configured. We can do this part for you as part of Meraki setup.
Licences and renewals
Meraki licences run for a fixed term, so the renewal date matters as much as the purchase:
- Co-term licensing gives the whole organisation one shared expiry date
- Subscription licensing (Cisco Networking Subscription) uses Essentials and Advantage tiers, with terms from 12 to 84 months
- Per-device licensing is closed to new customers but still runs in existing organisations
